Towards the end of the resume redo process, I am often asked for a word version of the final product.
Whilst this does seem on the surface a reasonable request. It's simply just not possible.
This request is really about giving you access to a document that you can make minor updates to yourself.
Fortunately, whilst we can not give you a word version. We can solve this problem in another (better) way.
The resume builder we use to create your resume does produce a word version. But it is in beta and not reliable enough. Most applications of this nature do not produce a word version.
For the ones that do you will find that the word version produced has boxes that inevitably break the formatting of your document with anything more than a few additional lines of text added.
Word is really not designed for producing a well-formatted resume that can be updated over time.
The good news is that with our new CV Builder - Visual CV - you have access to your own account where you can make as many copies and changes to your CV as you like. So long as you continue to pay a small subscription every year.
This is the main reason we get requests for Word versions.
